She started her career with the 10th (tenth) season of the Indian reality TV show named MTV Splitsvilla, which was aired on MTV India from July 23rd, 2017 till December 10th, 2017. The show was presented by Sunny Leone & Rannvijay Singha and had 21 episodes in all in its tenth season. The show saw 21 contestants participating against each other and the show was shot in Jim Corbett National Park located in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand state in India.
Baseer Ali & Naina Singh were declared winners of the show followed by Priyank Sharma & Divya Agarwal taking the second places respectively. Here, in this series, Akshata was paced at the 5th (fifth) position where she was Dumped by her Ex-contestants. She was however declared the 1st (first) Ideal Match along with Siddharth Sharma in the show. This is the show from where she got a lot of recognition and fame.

Apart from her modelling, she has acted in a few films as well. She was casted as ‘Ishitha’ in a lead role in the Telugu language movie named “Ksheera Sagara Madhanam”. In this movie, she was seen along with Maanas Nagulapalli who was casted as Rishi; Sanjay Rao as Omkar; Charishma Srikar as Viritha; Gowtham Setty as Govind; Priyanth as Yogesh; & Mahesh Kommula as Bharat.

She was also a part of yet another Telugu language movie, named “Poster”. In this movie, she was casted along with Vijay Dharan Datla; Rashi Singh; Shivaji Raja; Madhu Mani; Kasi Vishwanath; & others. The film was produced by Mahipal Reddy; Shekhar Reddy; & Ganga Reddy . The movie was directed by Mahipal Reddy and the music was composed by Sandy Addanki. The movie was officially released on November 19th, 2021.
