She started her career as an actress from an Indian Telugu-language biographical action film named Vangaveeti. This 2016 film was written & directed by Ram Gopal Varma and was produced by Dasari Kiran kumar. The film was narrated by Ram Gopal Varma himself and the music of the film was composed by Ravi Shankar. In the movie, Naina Ganguly was seen as Ratna Kumari, along with Sandeep Kumar; Vamsi Nakkanti; Kautilya; Sritej; & Vamsi Chaganti. The film was officially released on December 23rd, 2016.

Naina was next seen in an Indian Hindi-language short film which was again produced & directed by Ram Gopal Verma named Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chaahti Hai (English meaning – My daughter wants to become Sunny Leone). This short film was the debut of the veteran producer-director Ram Gopal Varma in the short film arena.

Meri Beti Sunny Leone Banna Chaahti Hai was the debut short film of Naina Ganguly too, in a lead role. Along with Naina, veteran actor Makrand Deshpande was seen playing the character of the father and the mother’s character was played by Divya Jagdale. The script of the film was written by P. Jaya Kumar & the short film was released on June 5th, 2017 on YouTube.

This short film had crossed 1.5 million views on the YouTube in just 15 hours after its official release. The Daily News and Analysis had criticised the film as it is not a usual matter to say the word “porn star” in front of their parents in a middle-class family. Let alone saying intention to become a porn star. The critics had also criticised the acting skills of Naina Ganguly too.

Apart from all the criticism, the critics saw some positives in the film and praised the stigma and double standard attached to a woman’s sexuality, her suppression under the name of “what will people say” and demonising her right to choose which was depicted in the conversation. Criticising the conversation in the film, Firstpost reviewed and referenced the film as “shameless opportunism”.

She later appeared in the Hoichoi Originals web-series named “Charitraheen“. This Bengali web-series had three series in all and was based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel and was seen with a lot of twists and turns being much in sync with today’s world. The series was directed by Debaloy Bhattacharya and written by Ruchita Chatterji & Roshini Ghosh.

In this series, Naina was casted as Kiran; Gaurav Das as Satish; Soumendra Bhattacharya was casted as Dibakar; Gaurav Chatterjee as Haran; Sayani Ghosh as Sabitri; Judhajit Sarkar as Richard; Swastika Mukherjee as Rabeya; & Mumtaz Sorcar as Nirupama. The first season of the “Charitraheen” series was released on the Hoichoi Originals OTT platform on September 29th, 2018. Its 2nd season was released on June 28th, 2019 & its 3rd season was released on December 24th, 2020.

In the year 2020, she was seen in yet another Telugu movie named Johaar. Johaar (Whose English translation is Salute), was an Indian Telugu-language Anthology Drama Film which was directed by debutant Teja Marni & the film was produced by Bhanu Sandeep Marni.

The music of the film was composed by Priyadarshan Balasubramanian and the film was officially released on August 15th, 2020. The movie was streamed on Aha (streaming service), which is an Indian subscription video on-demand and over-the-top streaming service which offers Telugu and Tamil-language content.
