She also won various awards for her brilliant acting, like the Star Jalsha Parivaar Awards and Telesamman Awards.

She completed her Graduate in Philosophy from the Jadavpur University located at 132, Raja Subodh Chandra Mallick Rd, Jadavpur, Kolkata – 700032, West Bengal, India. She married Actor, Director Sourav Chakraborty in July 2015. She met him on the sets of “Sobinoi Nibedon”, which was her first television serial. But their marriage didn’t last long and the couple officially got divorced mutually in the year 2019.

In an interview to a news channel, Madhumita Said, “When a girl decides to marry someone, love is not the only thing on her mind. There’s much more to it. We had a thing for each other but somewhere down the line, we felt it wasn’t working out. It seems like we are not compatible anymore.”

During the Eid, Madhumita came into the controversy when numbers of girls committed suicide in Bangladesh after failing to purchase to the ‘Pakhi’s’ (her character in serial) dress.

According to Bangladeshi media, she was arrested for prostitution in Bangladesh but Madhumita denied the news.
