In the year 2017, she started her acting careen in films with an Indian Punjabi-language romance film named “Channa Mereya”. This film was a remake of Marathi film industries blockbuster movie, Nagraj Manjule’s 2016 super-hit film “Sairat”. The original script of the movie was written by Marathi film industries veteran film makers Nagraj Manjule.

“Channa Mereya” was directed by Pankaj Batra and produced by Manmord Sidhu & Gunbir Singh Sidhu. The music of the film was composed by Goldboy and the film was officially released on July 14th, 2017 under the White Hill Studios banner. The film had a running time of 132 minutes approximate. The film received mixed reviews from critics & audiences, who felt the film was a “copy-paste” version of Marathi film “Sairat”.
